The visions & some accomplishments of the JHS Alumni Association.
The Replacement of the Football Field sign, gates & the addition of the Walk of Fame or the Legacy Bricks. The original sign was heavily damages during the ice storm of 1998. The Legacy Bricks were sold to fund numerous improvements to the school including the New Auditorium, the Football Field Entrance, a New Baseball Scoreboard, renovation of the Football Pressbox, and so much more ...
The Fine Arts Auditorium was built just inside of the main entrance to the school. It was an area that was originally used for robotics demonstrations, but later was not used. Through the sale of the Legacy Bricks, private donations, and many helpful people, this area was built with a full stage, back stage & the needed spaces to direct, light & control the sounds of wonderful presentations.
The original scoreboard for the Baseball diamond, which was installed sometime in the 1970's. Had fallen into disrepair, due to age, weather & lack of funding to repair it. In 2015, we were able to aid in funding its replace, with the help of many of the local businesses & private individuals.
The Tennis courts were in very bad shape, there were large cracks in the asphalt, the nets needed to be replaced and more. The project was spearheaded by a few parents of students. They asked for our help, between all of us, we were able to get the large amount of funding, through donations from local city governments, families, & the alumni association. It took a long time , but we all persevered.
